Q. Why are we making a change?
A. As the landscape of youth soccer is constantly changing, we want to make sure we are on the cutting edge of youth soccer development in order to best serve our membership. We discussed several options for the future of the club, and decided a partnership with City SC was the best way to go.ย 

Q. Why City SC?
A. There are many reasons we chose City SC to partner with. Including but not limited to:

  1. Enhanced Branding and National Presence: Joining forces with City SC means stepping onto a bigger stage and amplifying our presence across the nation. This partnership opens doors to new opportunities and greater visibility for our club on a national scale.

Q. So, are City SC taking over our club?
A. Not at all. Rest assured, while our club undergoes this exciting transformation, the heart and soul of Kings County Soccer Club remain unchanged. The same dedicated board of directors, coaching directors, and staff will continue to lead the way, ensuring a seamless transition and unwavering commitment to our soccer community. The club will maintain our 501C3 status and board of directors, leadership and coaching staff.

Q. When will we officially make the change over to the new name and brand?
A. The club will operate publicly as City SC Kings County immediately. We will begin registering teams under the new name beginning with 2025/2026 season competitions. The club website, social media and digital presence will be transitioning to the new name and branding over the coming weeks.ย 

Q. Do I have to buy a new uniform?
A. The club is currently working with City SC and Soccer.com on a plan for uniforms for the 2025/26 season and beyond. We will communicate the plan on this ASAP.

Q. Will our teams still compete in the same leagues?
A. Yes. Our teams will still compete in all of the same leagues (Nor Cal, State Leagues).

Q. Will our players have a pathway to other leagues like MLS Next, GA, or ECNL?
A. For the 2025-26 season, our club will continue competing in the same leagues as last season. Our partnership with City SC offers enhanced pathways for players and teams in Kings County. This includes more identification opportunities locally and regionally, as well as showcase events. Collaborating with the City SC national network ensures that our club is well-equipped to adapt to the evolving youth soccer landscape and seize any emerging opportunities in competitions and structural changes in the future.

Q. Will my club fees be affected?
A. As a non-profit organization, we are always fully committed to keeping our fees competitive in the marketplace. The partnership with City SC will not have a significant impact on club fees.
